5 Ways to Conquer Writer's Block

5 Ways to Conquer Writer's Block.. So, you are tasked with writing an article, or you are trying to write a book. Perhaps the only reason you want to write is because you get enjoyment out of it. For a few minutes, you contemplate on what to write about.
Eventually, those few minutes turn into hours, or even days. Relaxation turns into frustration, frustration turns into anger. At this point, most likely you are literally staring at a blank screen on the computer. You proceed to start screaming at yourself and starting banging your desk.
Well, if anyone has had a similar experience to this, I just want to say that you are not alone. These things happen to the best of us. Experience with this is known as "writer's block" What exactly is writer's block? It is defined as" the condition of being unable to think of what to write or how to proceed with writing." In other words, it is considered to be every writer's kryptonite. It is the very thing that prevents us from doing what we all love.
Here are five ways that will help you conquer writer's block.

1. Take a break: For any writer, this is a very difficult thing to do. However, this can be beneficial in the long run. Pursue an activity that relaxes your mind, and puts you in a calm state. Some activities you can do include; listening to music, taking a walk, working out or interacting with your friends and family. Just remember that writer's block is only temporary, so do not let it stop you or discourage you from writing.
2. Write with emotion: This is a great way to express oneself and can be very therapeutic for the mind. Sometimes, we have trouble expressing ourselves when speaking. So, instead we express ourselves through writing. Try to incorporate humorous anecdotes from that roller coaster we call life. It can help make your readers relate to you on a more personal level.
3. Change of scenery: Sometimes, in order to find that spark, you may just simply need a change of scenery. Instead of being cooped up in an office, perhaps you can go to your local library or write at a cafe. Go anywhere and explore your surroundings. This can help get your creative juices flowing and get you out of that writing slump.
4. Write down everything: This one is pretty self-explanatory. Explore the labyrinth that is your creative mind, and write down whatever your brain comes up with. Next, look through all of your thoughts and organize it into something coherent. Even if the thought is silly, write it down anyway. Individuals sometimes get their inspirations from their most bizarre thoughts.
5. Be positive: Constantly tell yourself that you can do it. Having negative thoughts can severely hinder the writing process. Quite frankly, having pessimistic thoughts can be extremely detrimental to your overall well-being.
With writer's block, it doesn't go away immediately. Be patient with it, and in no time you will be back to doing what you love.
