Music is poetry to the world, but more often, we see color first.
What about color? The first thing you think about when you look at a
blue sky is the amazing blueness of the sky. So why not write about
that?
White puffy snow clouds have color. Their vivid color brings them to life.
Red lights and green lights grab you with their color. So why allow the whiteness, or absence of color take away from your writing glory?
Write in the color. Start with black a saturation of color that fills up the page. Then keep going to other colors.
1. Color fills up your life. Let it fill your pages.
2. Voice. Write like you speak and your words will flow. The catagoric revelution of writing in small spaces can be important for those who carry their flag high on volume. Sing it out there. Use your voice to be recognized.
3. Words. Don't be afraid to express yourself. Get a ttle rowdy now and then because that's what words do. Use them. Abuse them an be happy about it. Enjoy the brash appearance of words on the paper and luxuriate in their positive power and strength.
4. Silence. Yes. Silence is golden. Or at least that's what we believe when writing our own articles. We believe there are times when you must give 'em what you've got and let them FIND their own way.
5. Abundance can be brute force, or simple eloquence. Just allow it to happen as you breathe.
Writing is about bringing words together to create a melody of prose, impregnate the moment and found greatness. No matter which option you choose to voice your pleasure, intrepidation or strife, the words on paper force thought into action.
The color of your words breathes life into the existence of thought and function.
When I started writing, my pages were lined, bound in spirals and collected in boxes and shelves. The compilation of those works has been edited, reviewed, some published and much read over the years. Seldom do thoughts come from those pages that are not changed from the origination. Editing the original words can significantly change the structure and thought that might have taken place, or editing can bring profound understanding to the meaning written 'back then'.
Whatever the process, the ultimate goal as you start writing is to fill up the page with words that can be edited to accomplish your goal. To do this, I always recommend starting with a list of words relevant to your topic.
1. Color.
2. Voice.
3. Words.
4. Silence.
5. Abundance.
If you started out with these five words, would you have an article of more than 400 words when you were done?
