Individual Writing Style
I have had some fascinating discoveries of late when it comes to writing seriously. Writing to be published can be quite a daunting effort for some of us. It's best to do your research on a publishing institute that best suits all your needs.
I have written various articles and stories for publishing houses and animal educators. I began my autobiography eighteen months ago and tragedy struck. I had a heart attack at fifty seven. This forced me to to change my entire lifestyle and begin doing a lot of things differently. I realized I wasn't ready to complete my autobiography, so it's been kept as it is.
Autobiographies
Unless you are celebrity or well known individual there's not much point in writing an autobiography in order to obtain a best selling book. You can however write one for yourself for your family to share. Unless your well known the autobiography becomes a story that others won't be interested in, as it will be one of many.
Using your autobiography as a base for other books
If your like me, and I'm sure a lot of you are, you may have tried writing a story at some point in your life, and if not then no doubt you will in time have a go. I came across many unfinished manuscripts on top of my closet dating back to 1996. When I read them again I was quite astonished and this gave me a boost of confidence to finish them.
Some of the best stories are corny love stories - its true they're the stories that sell, they're much like an elaborate tale of our lives, therefore we are able to relate to them. When we base a story on a part of our autobiography, the pen has total free rein, where if you write an autobiography, you are more less obliged to tell the truth, therefore it can be quite limiting and your imagination becomes starved. Using your imagination when writing a story is by far a liberating feeling, to have that unique control.
You are able to write books on education based on fact and the fun challenge of making the truth stand out by surrounding it with colour illustrations and imagination. I think anyone can write, it's a true expression of self, therefore we develop our own unique style, just as art is a very individual form of self expression. I am currently writing my first book called "Glass Prisons." It is based on the life of a complex person's identity of self.
